Dr. Kirsten Häger is head of sustainable finance at the Ministry of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). She is in charge of the State’s Sustainability Bonds including the development of the framework and project selection. In addition, she is a member of the working group for the State’s Sustainability Strategy and involved in the State’s sustainability rating. The State of NRW was the first German State who started issuing Sustainability Bonds in 2015. Since then NRW has issued ten Sustainability Bonds with a total volume of more than EUR 22 bn.
