As VP Sven has been heading KfW’s capital market funding team since June 2022.

Prior to this, he served in several functions within KfW Group. He worked in the export and project finance, originating transactions worldwide and promoting European exporters. Furthermore, he had a leading role in the foundation of KfW IPEX-Bank which was legally separated from KfW Group on January 1st, 2008. In 2015 he moved to KfW’s corporate strategy department, working on strategic projects such as the establishment of an RWA regime or the adjustment of KfW’s strategy according to sustainability KPIs. From 2015 to 2018 Sven also served as secretary of the International Development Finance Club (IDFC), a worldwide CEO network of national and regional development banks.

Sven Wabbels is married and has two children.
